Man dies and two injured following single vehicle collision in Dublin 

One male passenger, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been taken to the mortuary at Conolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. 

A man has died, and two people were hospitalised following a single-vehicle collision in Dublin on Saturday evening. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident at around 6pm, at Powerstown Road, Tyrrelstown.

One male passenger, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been taken to the mortuary at Conolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. An autopsy will take place in due course. 

A second passenger, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was also taken to hospital for treatment of injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening.

The road was temporarily closed for gardaí to carry out a technical examination of the scene. It has since been reopened. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Powerstown Road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturday March 7 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

"Investigations are ongoing," a garda spokesperson said.
