Dunnes Stores recalls pasta dish over undeclared fish and barley

The recalled Dunnes Stores Chicken Arrabbiata with Penne Pasta

Dunnes Stores has recalled its Chicken Arrabbiata with Penne Pasta after it was mispacked with “undeclared" fish and barley.

An alert from the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) said that, although the product is labelled as Chicken Arrabbiata with Penne Pasta, it was packed with Dunnes’ Irish Beef Ragu and Conchiglie Pasta.

The beef product contains fish and cereals containing gluten (barley), which are not declared on the label.

"This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of fish and/or barley," the FSAI said.

Consumers have been advised not to eat the affected batch, which Dunnes Stores is recalling.

The affected batch has a use-by date of February 1, 2026.
