Teenage motorcyclist airlifted to Cork hospital after serious crash

A teenage motorcyclist was airlifted to Cork University Hospital after a serious crash in Co Kerry.

The crash, which involved a motorcycle and three other vehicles, occurred on the N22 at Lissivigeen on Friday at approximately 4pm.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident, following which the young man was brought by air ambulance to CUH with life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

"The road has been closed to allow for a technical examination of the scene to be conducted by garda forensic collision investigators," said a garda spokesperson.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N22 in the Lissivigeen area between 3.45pm and 4.15pm are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
