Man in his 70s dies after being struck by car on N11 in Dublin

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

A man in his 70s has died after a car struck him on Monday evening.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident, which happened at approximately 6.45pm on the N11, Foxrock, Dublin 18, when a car struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The coroner has been notified and the man’s body has been removed to Dublin City Mortuary, where an autopsy will take place soon.

No other injuries were reported.

An examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators has finished, and the road has since reopened to traffic.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Any road users with camera footage who were travelling in the area between 6.30pm and 7pm on Monday are asked to make this footage available.
