Witness appeal after pedestrian killed in Carlow crash

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in Co Carlow.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at Myshall village shortly before 5.30pm on Monday.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident, involving a car and a pedestrian.

"The female pedestrian, aged in her 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The coroner has been notified and the woman’s body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course," said a Garda spokesperson.

No other injuries were reported.

"The scene is being held pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators," added the spokesperson.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 5pm and 5.30pm on Monday, 8th December 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
