New record as 16,614 people, including 5,238 children, homeless in Ireland

There were 16,614 people homeless at the end of September, including 5,238 children, breaking the record for the number of people in emergency accommodation yet again.

New figures from the Department of Housing show there 11,376 adults in emergency accommodation at the end of September as well as 2,443 families.
