Witness appeal after boy hospitalised following assault in Co Kildare

A boy has been hospitalised following an assault in Co Kildare on Sunday.

The incident occurred at a commercial premises on Main Street in Newbridge at around 3.30pm.

The "male juvenile" was treated at Naas General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "Any pedestrians or road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Newbridge Garda Station on [phone], the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."

Investigations are ongoing.
