Garda officer injured in motorcycle collision with car in Dublin

A member of An Garda Síochána has been hospitalised after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car in Dublin on Tuesday.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to the collision, which happened on Churchtown Road Upper in Dundrum shortly before 10am.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted, and the on-duty garda was taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Local management said welfare supports have been made available to the garda.

No other injuries were reported.

The road where the incident took place was closed temporarily but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage who were in the area between 9.30am and 10am are asked to provide it to investigating gardaí.
