Enterprise Ireland asked Government to approve raise in salary for chief executive post by €70,000

Enterprise Ireland wanted to raise the salary for its chief executive position by more than €70,000 but was warned there was little chance of it being approved.

The agency told the Department of Enterprise late last year it was looking to recruit its new boss with a pay package worth €300,000 a year.
