Three companies paid 'staggering' €70m to tackle health waiting lists

Three companies were paid more than €70m by the HSE from the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF) for so-called ‘insourcing’ activity since 2023, according to new figures.

The companies in question – EHF 29, Rosata Recruitment, and Totally Healthcare – were used almost exclusively for insourcing acute care. Insourcing is when external vendors are paid for out-of-hours care provided using the HSE’s own equipment and facilities.
