GAA lotteries with a prize of over €3,000 will have to register with Gambling Regulatory Authority

The requirement for charities to register with the Gambling Regulatory Authority may not be introduced for two years.

GAA lotteries and charity draws with a prize of over €3,000 will have to register with the newly established Gambling Regulatory Authority, its CEO has confirmed.

Anne Marie Caulfield said that such entities will be subject to much lighter regulation than the traditional bookmakers and that the requirement to register for charities may not be introduced for two years.
