Body removed from Malahide scene while man, 20s, held in custody

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating after a man in his 60s died following an incident early Saturday morning.
The man was declared deceased at the scene after gardaí attended a residence in Malahide at around 8.30am and found him unresponsive.
A man in his late 20s has been arrested in connection with the garda probe, and is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Garda Station in the Co. Dublin area.
His body was removed from the scene at approximately 2.30pm.
The office of the State pathologist has been notified, and an autopsy examination is set to take place.
The scene has also been preserved for examination by members of the Garda Technical Bureau, while a senior investigating officer will lead the inquiry.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly people who were in the area of Gainsborough Lawn, Malahide, Co Dublin, between 8am and 8.45am on Saturday 8th February 2025.
Furthermore, anyone with video recordings such as motorists with dash cams are asked to hand over footage to gardaí.
