'Outrageous' that patients cannot access their own medical notes 

Siobhan Gaynor points out the practical benefit of having ready access to one's own medical data: 'It would be more efficient if I was able to pull up my notes on my phone,' when asked questions by a clinician during a consultation. 

Patients want ownership of their own medical notes and it is “outrageous” they cannot yet easily access these, a cancer patient and advocate has said.

This comes as the HSE begins a wider rollout of its new patient app starting after the new year break. An early release for up to 1,500 people took place before Christmas.
