The French actor Gérard Depardieu, whose trial on sexual assault charges was due to start in Paris on Monday, has asked for a delay due to health reasons, his lawyer has said.
“Gerard Depardieu is extremely affected and unfortunately his doctors have forbidden him from being present at the hearing, which is why he will ask for a postponement to a later date so that he can attend,” Jérémie Assous told Franceinfo on Monday morning.
