Man, 20s, dies days after serious collision in Galway

A man in his 20s who was involved in a serious road traffic collision on the R360 in Galway last Friday has died.
The collision occurred on the R360 at Ballintava, Dunmore, at 2.30am.
The driver, who was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment of serious injuries, was pronounced dead on Monday.
The passenger of the car, a man in his 20s, was also brought to University Hospital Galway. It is understood his injuries are non-life-threatening.
"Investigations are ongoing," a Garda spokesperson said.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Additionally, they are requesting those with camera footage, including motorists with dashcam, who were travelling in the area of Ballintava, Dunmore, Co Galway on Friday, October 18, between 1.30am and 2.30am, to make it available to investigating gardaí.
