Phillip Nolan steps down as director of Science Foundation Ireland

Prof Phillip Nolan has denied the allegations of misconduct.
Professor Phillip Nolan has stepped down as director of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI).
According to reports, the board of the SFI had been due to consider findings of an investigation into misconduct allegations that had been made by senior staff against Mr Nolan.
The
reported the allegations were denied by Prof Nolan.Prof Nolan was previously chair of the Government’s virus modelling unit during covid-19.
SFI is a research group that funds "oriented basic and applied research in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics".
A spokesperson for SFI confirmed Prof Nolan was no longer with the organisation.
Following a board meeting, deputy director general Dr Ciarán Seoighe has been made acting director general.
