Gardaí reject claims schoolchildren were escorted past Dublin asylum seeker encampment

An Garda Síochána has said it “categorically rejects any assertion” that members are actively escorting or have escorted school children past a tented encampment along Dublin’s Grand Canal.

Dozens of posts have appeared on social media sites claiming a group of young schoolchildren were escorted by gardaí past the canal in Dublin 2 in recent days as a result of the asylum seekers living at the makeshift encampment.
