Driving test wait will be cut to 10 weeks 'by middle of year' 

The average wait time for a driving test nationally was 16.9 weeks at the end of February,

Learner drivers will have to wait no more than 10 weeks to sit their test by the middle of this year, while motorists will also see waiting times for the NCT fall, according to the Department of Transport.

Driving test wait times have dropped from a peak of 30.4 weeks in August of 2023, with the deployment of additional driver testers having an impact.
