Motorcyclist, 18, killed in single-vehicle collision in Mayo

Forensic Collision Investigators have been called to examine the scene.
An 18-year-old has been killed in a single-vehicle collision in Co Mayo this evening.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at Clonkeen near Castlebar shortly before 5pm.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
He is the 41st fatality on Irish roads so far this year.
The road at the scene has been closed and local diversions are in place. Forensic Collision Investigators have been called to examine the scene.
The local Coroner has been notified and an autopsy will be arranged.
Gardaí investigating the incident are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Any road users with footage, including dash cam, who were in the area at the time are asked to make this available to gardaí.
