'Please do something to help my child,' says mother of girl in care

The mother of a teenage girl in care for almost 18 months, and went missing for 10 days on one occasion, is begging Tusla “to please do something to help my child”.

The teenager has been the subject of a voluntary care order since late 2022 and has absconded from different placements on several occasions since then. Some of those incidents related to having left her placement without permission for a number of hours, but there were other occasions when she was missing overnight.
