Man hit by car in Mayo collision dies in hospital

A man has died after he and another person were hit by a car in Mayo. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, which happened when a car on Lord Edward Street, in Ballina at approximately 6.30pm yesterday. 

A male pedestrian, aged 33, was taken to Mayo University Hospital in the aftermath.

On Wednesday evening, Gardaí confirmed that he had passed away.

The little girl received treatment for her injuries before being discharged. 

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses.

Any road users who may have camera footage and who were travelling in the area at the time, are asked to make this footage available.
