Renewed appeal on five-year anniversary of disappearance of Icelandic man Jon Jonsson

Gardaí are renewing their appeal to help trace the whereabouts of an Icelandic national, Jon Jonsson, who went missing five years ago today.
The 41-year-old was last seen in Whitehall in Dublin on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at around 11am.
The investigation into the disappearance of Mr Jonsson, over the past five years, has seen over 270 jobs/lines of enquires created. Numerous statements have also been taken and hours of CCTV footage were reviewed.

"Despite ongoing investigations and enquiries, Jon has yet to be located," a Garda spokesperson said.
The family of Mr Jonsson have also continued their search for him over the last five years.
During the investigation, the team received two items of anonymous correspondence - the contents of which have been assessed.
The Garda investigation team are appealing to the author(s) of those correspondences to make direct contact with them.
"Any contact will be dealt with in the strictest confidence," the spokesperson added.
Gardaí in Ballymun are renewing their appeal to the public to help find Mr Jonsson.
He is described as being six foot tall, of medium build with short brown hair.

When Mr Jonsson was last seen he was wearing a black padded jacket.
He had a hotel room key card from the Bonnington Hotel in his possession when he went missing.
