John Bruton’s brother says former taoiseach believed ‘every person counts’

Former taoiseach John Bruton has been remembered as a man with a “voracious appetite for new ideas” during an emotional speech by his brother in the Dáil.

Mr Bruton, who was taoiseach between 1994 and 1997 and leader of the Fine Gael political party between 1990 and 2001, died on Tuesday in Dublin following a long illness.
