Tánaiste to push for the introduction of EU-wide sanctions against Israel

Tánaiste Micheál Martin will take part in a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels and will also engage with foreign ministers from Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, and Ukraine and secretary general of the League of Arab States.

Tánaiste Micheál Martin will be pushing for the introduction of EU-wide sanctions against violent Israeli settlers when he meets with his counterparts in Brussels on Monday.

As the death toll in Gaza climbs to 25,000, Mr Martin has warned that Israel must be "held to account" for its actions in the Palestinian strip since the Hamas attack on October 7.
