Much of the country will see disruptive gusts this weekend with Met Éireann issuing three Status Yellow wind warnings across Saturday.
The forecaster is warning that "strong and gusty west to northwest winds" will bring "the potential for wave overtoppping".
The first warning comes into effect at 8am and will impact Clare, Tipperary and all of Connacht. It will remain in place until 6pm.
The second warning will impact Cavan, Monaghan and all of Leinster. It will come into effect at 10am and remain in place until 8pm that day.
A third warning for Donegal will come into place at midday on Saturday and remain until 8pm.
More generally, Saturday should start off very windy with the rain pushing northeastwards and becoming confined to north Ulster by the afternoon.
Some sunny spells and some showers are expected across the rest of the country, with some turning heavy with hail.
The winds then should ease by Saturday night as showers become mostly restricted to north Ulster. However, a spell of rain is expected to push across Munster and Connacht before moving across the rest of the country by dawn on Sunday.
Sunday then will see a day of sunny spells and showers, with some turning heavy and long—especially in the west.
Monday then should see a mostly dry day with sunshine and the odd shower with outbreaks of rain likely to develop in the southwest by evening.
Early indications suggest that Tuesday should be a cloudy day with some scattered outbreaks of rain along with mist and drizzle. Maximum temperatures of 7C to 11C are expected.
