Man, 60s, dies following collision in Co Wexford

A man in his 60s has died following a collision in Co Wexford on Thursday.
The incident occurred shortly before 7am at Duffry Gate, Enniscorthy. The man, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body will be removed to the mortuary at Waterford University Hospital where an autopsy will be carried out. No other injuries have been reported.
The scene is preserved for examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaà in Enniscorthy are now appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: "Anyone in the vicinity of Duffry Gate, Enniscorthy this morning between 6.30am and 7am is asked to come forward. Those with camera footage, including motorists with dash cam, within this timeframe are asked to share it with investigating GardaÃ."

This fatality brings the total number of road deaths recorded so far this year to 167 — an increase of 35 more than the same period in 2022.
