Insurance, travel, crew: why are concert tickets so much more expensive in Ireland?

Bruce Springsteen’s announcement of a return to Ireland next year for gigs in Cork, Kilkenny, Dublin, and Belfast was a welcome surprise for fans who had missed out on his run in May of this year.
However, those who had managed to attend one of the sold-out shows in the spring would have been wary on hearing the news of his return — as it means they will likely have to fork out a minimum of €100 to secure a ticket, as they did in May.
