Three people hospitalised following assaults in Dublin city centre

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing

A man and woman have been arrested after three people were taken to hospital following two separate assaults that happened on Thursday afternoon in Dublin city. 

The first incident saw a man and a woman injured by two suspects at Wolfe Tone Square. 

Both victims were subsequently taken to the Mater Hospital with serious injuries that are non-life threatening. 

A second incident saw a woman injured at Moore Lane. She too was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

A garda spokesperson said a man and a woman were arrested in relation to both incidents. 

They are currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in Dublin city centre. 

"Investigations ongoing," the spokesperson added.
