Man dies in workplace incident at garage in Westmeath

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of incident at a garage on the Old Dublin Road in Mullingar on Wednesday morning. 

The Health and Service Authority (HSA) has launched an investigation into the death of a man in a workplace accident in Co Westmeath. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident at a garage on the Old Dublin Road in Mullingar on Wednesday morning. 

The man, who was aged in his 30s, had fallen from a height, said a HSA spokesperson.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His body has since been removed from the scene and an autopsy is due to take place at a later time. 

A garda spokesperson said the coroner has been notified.
