Emotional ceremony for 89 gardaí killed in the line of duty

The 89 members of An Garda Síochána who have lost their lives in the line of duty have been remembered at an emotional ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

"When a garda goes to work each day, they don't know what danger awaits them but they proceed regardless," Garda Commissioner Drew Harris told the ceremony in Dubhlinn Gardens at Dublin Castle. "For as long as this is so, there is hope."
