Young child seen walking alone in early hours of the morning found safe and well

A young girl seen walking in a County Down town in the early hours of the morning has been found safe and well.
Police have thanked Community Search and Rescue, and the public for their help and support in locating the child.
The girl had been seen in the Main Street area of Castlewellan at around 4.55am on Wednesday.
Police attended the scene but did not find the child.
She had been seen walking on the footpath in Main Street near the entrance to Castlewellan forest park.
Speaking on Wednesday afternoon after the child had been located, Temporary Chief Inspector Adam Corner said: “The young girl has been located safe and well.
"We would like to thank Community Search and Rescue and the public for their help and support in locating this child.”
