Hutchings challenges admissibility of document naming him as ‘soldier A’

Dennis Hutchings, 80, arrives at Laganside Courts, Belfast, as the former member of the Life Guards regiment, has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of John Pat Cunningham in Co Tyrone in 1974. He also denies a count of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent. 

An Army veteran accused of a Troubles shooting has challenged the admissibility of evidence that identifies him as an anonymised soldier in witness statements.

Dennis Hutchings is on trial charged with the attempted murder of John Pat Cunningham in Co Tyrone in 1974.
