Why has an €8,000 Rolex been kept at the Dept of Taoiseach for two years?

A gold Rolex watch. A watch worth almost €8,000 has been stored at the Dept of the Taoiseach for almost two years after it was gifted to the Ceann Comhairle on a visit to the United Arab Emirtates. 

A Rolex watch worth nearly €8,000 has been left stored in a safe at the Department of the Taoiseach for almost two years despite requests for it to be sold for charity.

The watch had been gifted to Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl when he was visiting the United Arab Emirates in late 2018.
