Prof Sam McConkey calls for an all-island approach to Covid-19

Prof. McConkey said that if the R rate stayed at 1 then it might be necessary to stay at Level 3 for months or years. 

Infectious disease specialist Professor Sam McConkey has called for a joint policy on Covid-19 for Ireland and the UK. There needs to be a link with Northern Ireland through the Belfast Agreement and with the UK through the East/West component.

Prof. McConkey also called for the escalation of controls and restrictions, but he warned that it had to be done in a way involving State supports for individuals and businesses.
