'Hot bedding of workers in meat plants has to stop if Covid-19 is to be defeated' - Siptu

There are 40 meat plant workers reportedly sharing accommodation in Offaly, an Oireachtas committee will be told tomorrow.

Siptu Divisional Organiser for the Manufacturing Industry, Greg Ennis, will appear before the Oireachtas Special Committee on Covid-19 as the recalled committee discusses the outbreaks in meat factories which have seen three counties returned to lockdown.
