Girl, 11, dies after being struck by tractor in Donegal

A girl, aged 11, has been killed after being struck by a tractor in Co. Donegal.

The incident happened on a farm in the Malin area at around 5.20pm this afternoon.

The child was pronounced dead a short time after being rushed to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry by air ambulance.

Gardaí in Carndonagh are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

The scene has been preserved for a full technical examination and the local coroner was notified.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has also been informed about the fatality.
