A TD’s son has been spared a jail sentence and a criminal record after he became aggressive and spat at a Garda during an “appalling incident” following a row over a taxi fare.

Student Fearghal O Snodaigh, 24, son of Sinn Féin TD Aengus O Snodaigh, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court in November to assaulting Garda Niall Carolan.
