'Incredibly rare' identical triplets born in Dublin on New Year’s Day

The Master of the Rotunda Maternity Hospital has described the birth of identical triplets on New Year’s Day as “incredibly unusual” and a one in a million occurrence.

The three baby boys who were born just before noon to Annmarie Byrne-Ryan and David Ryan are spontaneous triplets which means they were conceived without medical intervention.
