Gardaí say they are “flooding” a west Dublin suburb with police in a bid to clamp down on a “reckless” gang feud that put the lives of two children at risk.

The brother and sister, aged seven and five respectively, escaped unharmed after they discovered a loaded handgun on a green area near their home on Castlecurragh estate in the Mulhuddart area at around 5.30pm on Thursday.
