Armed members of the Garda Regional Support Unit attended at a domestic incident in Mahon where a man held a glass lamp and a pint glass and warned gardaí they would have to use Tasers to get him out of the house.

David Long, aged 35, of no fixed address, eventually calmed down but it took up to 30 minutes for this to occur at 35 St Michael’s Close, Mahon, Cork, Inspector Ronan Kennelly said at Cork District Court.
