A State Commission has found that the bodies of hundreds of children from one Dublin mother and baby institution were used in anatomical research up to the late 1970s.

In its fifth interim report released today, The Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes said a number of children’s remains were transferred from the Dublin Union and associated institutions, including Pelletstown, before the 48-hour period for claiming the body was over.
