MEP Marian Harkin will not seek re-election
Three-time MEP Marian Harkin has confirmed she will not seek re-election to the European Parliament and said the size of her constituency and a tough travelling schedule are two of her reasons for stepping back from politics.
The Independent MEP said she had agonised over whether to seek a fourth term but had decided against running in Midlands-North-West after some 15 years in the European Parliament.
