Police appeal for witnesses of Belfast assault

The attack continued until members of the public intervened.

Police in the North are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Belfast.

A man in his 50s was assaulted by another man as he was walking in the Mountpottinger Road area.

He sustained a number of head and facial injuries in the attack which continued until members of the public intervened.

He was later treated in hospital.

The incident happened just before 2pm yesterday afternoon.
