DART services have been disrupted in Dublin tonight after a "tragic incident" at Portmarnock.

Irish Rail said that they were dealing with a "distressing situation" and that support staff would be attending passengers at Portmarnock station as soon as possible.

It said that services are suspended between Howth Junction and Malahide and that Northern Commuter trains are operating between Malahide and Drogheda only.

Bus transfers have been arranged between Connelly Station and Drogheda for the 8.50 Connolly to Belfast train.

Dublin Bus is accepting rail tickets for travel to and from affected areas including Clongriffin, Portmarnock, Malahide, Donabate, Rush, Lusk, Skerries, and Balbriggan.
