Louth creche closed after rodent infestation discovered

A creche in Co Louth is among 6 businesses served with a closure order last month over breaches in food safety hygiene.

Aladdin's Cave Montessori in Ardee was closed after a rodent infestation was discovered in the pre-school room, baby room and nappy changing area.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland says some of the reasons for closures in other Food businesses are, dried blood splatters which were found on the walls in a meat preparation unit, dead cockroaches on the top of a cold room and fresh rat droppings under an oven in a kitchen.

The authority says every month they find finding recurring incidents of filthy premises and rat infestations.
