Varadkar turns film critic in the Dáil

The Taoiseach took a break from Dáil routine to offer his opinion on a new film this afternoon.

Leo Varadkar was being asked why ads for the National Planning Framework are running in cinemas before movies.

During the exchange Leo Varadkar and the Ceann Comhairle weighed in with their opinions of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

"I went to see Three Billboards myself, saw it in the Lighthouse on Sunday night," Mr Varadkar told the Dáil.

"It is not unusual for government agencies and governments departments to take out advertising.

"Not sure what to make of the film Ceann Comhairle."

Seán Ó Fearghaíl responded that he thought the film was quite good.

"It was good but hard to warm to the heroine...not sure what to make of it," the Taoiseach said.
