Armed robbery at bookmakers in Dublin

Gardai are investigating after an armed robbery took place at a shop in north Dublin yesterday evening.

At around 6.30pm yesterday evening, a man entered a Paddy Power shop on the Strand Road in Portmarnock armed with what's being described as a gun.

Staff were threatened by the lone raider, who fled the scene after stealing a sum of cash.

Gardaí have confirmed that no one was injured in the incident while Officers in Malahide are investigating.

It's the second time in under two weeks that this particular store has been targeted by armed raiders.

On January 22nd, a lone gunman made off with a four figure sum of cash.
