Drugs mule Michaella McCollum announces pregnancy on social media
Convicted drug smuggler Michaella McCollum has revealed she is pregnant.
One of the so-called ‘Peru Two’, McCollum shared the news on Instagram, sharing a picture her lying down showing off her bump.
The caption reads: "Wow had some crazy dreams... guess that’s what happens when your dreaming for more than one."
McCollum and Melissa Reid, from Scotland, were imprisoned in 2013 for six years and eight months after admitting trying to smuggle cocaine worth £1.5m (€1.7m) from Peru to Spain.
The Co Tyrone woman returned to Ireland in August 2016.
Upon her return to Ireland, she was interviewed by RTÉ where she acknowledged the potential consequences if she had successfully smuggled the drugs back to Europe.

“I potentially could have filled Europe full of a lot of drugs,” she said.
“I could have potentially killed a lot of people, not directly, but I could have caused a lot of harm to people.”
During the interview McCollum called herself naive, saying: “I didn’t understand the consequences of a bad decision. I didn’t understand exactly what I was doing. I was very naive.”
McCollum claims she was targeted by the drug gang.
