Government expects 'meaningful involvement' if Stormont talks fail

The Government would expect to have "real and meaningful involvement" in Northern Ireland if efforts to restore Stormont powersharing fail, the Taoiseach has said.

Leo Varadkar said he would not support a return to straight direct rule from Westminster if time is called on negotiations to re-establish a devolved executive in Belfast.
