A baby girl is in a serious condition following a crash in Mullingar this afternoon.

A baby girl is in a serious condition following a crash in Co Westmeath this afternoon.

Three women and a man have also been taken to Mullingar Regional hospital after the accident that happened at around 4.30pm.

The road is closed and diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
